MEMBERSHIP CARDS

Q: When should I call with questions about my membership?
A: Representatives are available Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Pacific Time and Friday, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Pacific Time. Call toll-free at 800-308-6472.

Q: What do I need my membership card for?
A: If you are a participant, you need your participant card to prove you are eligible to race. You can also use your membership card or participant card for free admission to the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum in Pomona, Calif. In addition, your card allows you discounts for admission to NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series events.

Q: What should I do if I lose my membership card?
A: Have a parent call NHRA Membership Services, 800-308-6472 and a representative will mail you a duplicate card. If you need immediate proof of membership, the rep can fax you temporary proof until you receive a duplicate card.

PARTICIPANT CARDS

Q: When should I call with questions about my participant card or eligibility to race?
A: Representatives are available Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Pacific Time, and Friday, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Pacific Time, at 626-914-4761. Please ask for the National Field Office or email licensing@nhra.com

Q: What should I do if I lose my participant card?
A: Have a parent call the National Field Office, 626-914-4761 or email licensing@nhra.com, and a representative will mail you a duplicate card. If you need immediate proof of participant eligibility, the rep can email you temporary proof until you receive a replacement card.

RENEWALS

Q: Should I let my membership expire before I renew?
A: No. Renew early to avoid any interruption in service. Your renewal will be added to whatever time is left on your existing membership.

Q: I’m late renewing my membership. What address should I use to send in my renewal overnight?
A: Contact the NHRA Competition Licensing Department for specific instructions:626-914-4761 or email licensing@nhra.com

Q: Can I fax the parental consent forms?
A: No. Parental consent forms, along with the parents’ or guardians’ signatures, must be original.

Q: Can I renew my participant card by phone?
A: NHRA requires your parents’ or guardians’ signatures on the waiver* and your doctor's medical form to process your participant card, so it can’t be done by phone. New forms will be sent to you with your renewal notice, but if you don’t want to wait, you can download the forms off of NHRARacer.com or request new forms by phone. Call 800-308-6472.

*Note: All Minor Release and Waiver forms must be notarized. Any form that is not notarized will be returned.

Q: Do I need to submit a birth certificate when renewing my participant card?
A: ALL Jr. Drag Racing League participants who do not already have a CERTIFIED copy of their birth certificate on file with NHRA must submit one with their new or renewal participant applications. Only certified documentation will be accepted. Copies, facsimiles, or any other forms will not be accepted. Once submitted, your certified birth certificate will remain on file with NHRA and will not be returned to you. You will not be required to resubmit every year.

Q: I am a participant. How long after I join or renew will it take to receive my participant card?
A: Once you have returned your waiver form and medical form with the required signatures, your $34 member/participant fee, and your membership application, you will receive your participant card in about three weeks.

Q: How soon after I join or renew will I receive my membership kit?
A: Your kit will arrive about six to eight weeks after your membership has been processed. Members outside the United States will receive their kits in about eight weeks.

ADDRESS CHANGES

Q: How do I change my address with the NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League?
A: Have a parent call NHRA Membership Services, 800-308-6472; email membership@nhra.com; or write to NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League, 140 Via Verde, Suite 100, San Dimas, CA 91773. Please include your membership number and your old and new address in the request.

INSURANCE

Q: How does the $585,000 NHRA member catastrophic insurance policy* work?
A: This excess policy covers current members of NHRA who are accidentally injured while attending or participating in a racing event at an NHRA member track. Typical examples of covered events include test sessions, national events, divisional events, and other drag racing events if conducted under NHRA rules or if conducted under the rules of an approved alternate sanctioning organization.

While this is an excess policy, which means coverage does not take effect until all other available insurance coverage is exhausted, it is important to recognize that since workers’ compensation insurance is considered to be an exclusive remedy for injured employees, no coverage applies to anyone, including event workers, if they are required to be covered under the workers compensation laws of that state. And, as with all insurance policies, certain activities and events may not be covered, and coverage is, at all times, limited to the terms, conditions, and exclusions of the insurance policy.

GENERAL

Q: What do I need to be race ready?
A: Before you can drive a Jr. Dragster at an NHRA member track, you must have an NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League participant card. The card is issued only after your parents or legal guardians have signed the paperwork required by NHRA. Safety is a priority: NHRA requires every racer to wear an accepted helmet, neck collar, arm restraints, driver restraint system (seat belts), protective clothing, and gloves.
