Racers in the NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League will be featured during 2022 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series events. The seven National Shootouts, one in each geographic division, will include eight-car Jr. Dragster fields, and the final round from each shootout will take place on Sunday and be included in the event's national broadcast on FOX and FOX Sports 1. Below is the 2022 National Shootout schedule.

How to qualify for the National Shootout events:

Division 1 Mopar Express Lane NHRA Nationals Presented by Pennzoil – Maple Grove Raceway – Sept 15-18, 2022
The four category winners from the Maple Grove Lucas Oil event in May will be invited to compete along with the four top points earners at Maple Grove. If a winner from the Lucas Oil event elects not to go, the invitation will be offered to the Runner-up. Any other alternates will be drawn from Maple Grove Points.

Division 2 NHRA Four-Wide Nationals – zMax Dragway – April 29-May 1, 2022
Previous season’s eight champions from the Southeast’s Division Lucas Oil series, National Open series and ET Finals have earned the opportunity to compete in the 8-car shootout. If any champion is unable to attend the event, the first alternate is the Race of Champion’s winner of that age group, second alternate will be the Championship runner-up.

Division 3 Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals - Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park – June 23-26, 2022
The top eight points earners in the Advanced Class (13-17 y/o) at Summit Motorsports Park after the first five scheduled points races, prior to the National Event in June will make up the 8-car shootout field.

Division 4 Texas NHRA FallNationals – Texas Motorplex – Oct. 13-16, 2022
The eight participants in the shootout will be the four age group champions, Race of Champion winner, and winners of the Saturday Shootouts at the South Central Jr. E.T. Finals at Ardmore Dragway. If alternates are needed, they will be selected based on the following hierarchy: championship runner-up, Race of Champions runner-up, Shootout runner-up.

Division 5 Dodge Power Brokers NHRA Mile-High Nationals – Bandimere Speedway – July 15-17, 2022
Every participant that attends the Jr Drag Racing League West Central Division Finals and the Western Conference Finals on June 23-26, at Bandimere Speedway, will be eligible for the 8-car National Shootout at the NHRA Mile-High Nationals. Saturday night after the JDRL Conference Finals portion of the event, during the BBQ and awards ceremony, we will randomly draw one participant (and an alternate) from each of the 8-age groups to participate in the 8-car shootout.

Division 6 Flav-R-Pac NHRA Northwest Nationals – Pacific Raceways – July 29-31, 2022
Each of the 17 Northwest Division Member Tracks will be submit one name for a random drawing for the eight participants. The drawing will be live on the Division 6 Facebook page a 6-8 weeks prior to the Northwest Nationals event.

Division 7 Auto Club NHRA Finals - Auto Club Raceway at Pomona – Nov. 10-13, 2022
The 8 participants in the shootout will be season champions for the four age-group from the Pacific Division Jr Championship Series (JCS) and four age group champions from the Pacific Jr Finals in Las Vegas. If alternates are needed - they will be selected based on the following hierarchy. Division 7 Race of Champions winners from the Jr Finals, second place in series, Jr Finals runner-up, Race of Champions runner-up, then next available from JCS
