Anthony Capirose won the three-round Jr. Dragster eliminator held during the NHRA Summernationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park. The exhibition race was part of the weekend-long celebration of the 25th anniversary of the NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League.
Capirose earned the trophy when Justin Handwerk went red by .002-second in the final round. Capirose cut a .038 light and posted an 8.057 (8.02 dial) en route to victory.
Capirose defeated Michael Bassista and Joseph Cirillo in the first two rounds, while Handwerk got around Francis Vignola and Shawn Sanseverine en route to the final. Other exhibition participants were Gaige Grant and Madison Meredith.
