Divisions 3, 4 races postponed (UPDATE 9/15: Division 3 date added)

Due to unfavorable weather forecasts, the Division 3 Jr. Championships/Race of Champions and Division 4 Jr. E.T. Finals that were slated for this weekend have been postponed.

In an announcement on its Facebook page, the Division 3 officials said, “With the rain Kil-Kare Raceway is currently getting today and what is forecasted for the next three days, we have decided to postpone this weekends NHRA Summit Racing Equipment North Central Division Jr. Championships. An announcement of a reschedule will be made once the details are worked out.”

UPDATE (Sept. 15): The Division 3 Jr. Championships/Race of Champions has been rescheduled for Oct. 27-28 at Wagler Motorsports Park in Lyons, Ind.

Division 4 also elected to postpone its event due to weather, noting forecasts are calling for rain for much of the weekend, forcing Texas Motorplex track officials and NHRA to move the event. The Jr. E.T. Finals will now take place Oct. 19-21 at Texas Motorplex.

“The persistent rain forecasted from the latest tropical storm for the area have us concerned,” said NHRA South Central Division Director Trey Capps. “We hope that by making the call this early we’ll save our racers some travel expenses.”

This date change will also shuffle the American Jr. Dragster Challenge Event that was scheduled for the Saturday of the Jr. E.T. Finals weekend. The Texas Motorplex will still host the American Jr. Dragster Challenge on Saturday Oct. 20, followed by the Summit Jr. E.T. Finals event on Sunday, Oct. 21. Gates will open on Fri,day Oct. 19, at noon, with a test ‘n tune from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. NHRA Member Tracks sending teams will have until Monday, Oct. 15, to resubmit team rosters if any changes need to be made.
