The 2017 Division Championships season will draw to a close this weekend when the Southeast Division crowns its champions during the Jr. Championships event at Rockingham Dragway. Held in conjunction with the division’s NHRA Summit Racing Series Finals event for “big car” competitors, the Jr. Championships will feature both a championship race to determine this year’s titlists and a Race of Champions contest.

Though the “big car” portion kicks off on Friday, Oct. 6, Jr. Dragsters will not take to the track until Saturday, which will feature a pair of time runs in advance of the Race of Champions. On Sunday, Jr. racers will get an additional time run in the morning before beginning championship eliminations.

Both the Race of Champions and championship race will feature competition in three age groups: 6-9, 10-12, and 13-17. Wallys will be awarded to winners in each age group, along with champion’s jackets, prize money, a Gold Card, and tickets to the awards banquet.
