The Service Department Solutions Jr. Dragster season wrapped up at the Division 2 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Rockingham Dragway, and when the dust settled, Luke Hutchinson (age 6-9), Cameron Rich (10-12), and Kenzie Whitley (13-17) hoisted Wallys in the winner’s circle.
Hutchinson, near lane, got off the starting line first, .075 to .186, in the 6-9 class final and never looked back, defeating Brody Turner on an 11.916 (11.90 dial) to 11.938 (11.90) count.
Rich, near lane, paired a .046 light with an 8.983 (8.97) to finish .03-second ahead of Waylon Bennett’s .059-initiated 9.001 (8.97) in the 10-12 age-group title round.
Whitley, near lane, got the automatic nod in the 13-17 bracket final when William Craft red-lighted.
