Blane Carrell (age 6-9), Gavin Sharp (10-12), and Mia Rhodes (13-17) were the latest Jr. racers to win Wallys in Division 4 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series competition, outlasting the fields in their respective age groups at Texas Motorplex.
Carrell, far lane, got off the starting line first in the 6-9 age-group final, then ran a 14.041 (14.00 dial) to turn on the win light against Brady Mayse, who finished second with a 12.010 (11.92).
Sharp, near lane, got the automatic nod in the 10-12 bracket final when Colton Farley left the starting line early. Sharp posted an 8.967 (8.90) on his way to victory.
Rhodes, far lane, left had a reaction-time advantage of more than a tenth in the 13-17 class title round and never looked back, defeating Kasen Belt on an 8.009 (7.90) to 8.613 (8.60) count.
