Jacob Collins ended his 2023 Pacific Division Jr. Championship Series season on a high note, doubling up during the final event of the season. Collins won both the 15-17 age group and Jr. Comp class Wallys to highlight the doubleheader at Top Gun Dragstrip in Fallon, Nev. The Oliveira brothers dominated the 6-9 bracket with Caden and Easton racing one another in both finals and splitting the wins. Other event winners were Blaine Denunzio (Saturday 10-12), Isabella Lilly Pires (Saturday 13-14), Katelyn Torres (Saturday 15-17), Jacelyn Gonzaga (Saturday Jr. Comp), Cody Vincent (Sunday 10-12), and Sophia Garcia Wells (Sunday 13-14).

SATURDAY
Caden Oliveira, near lane, won the first match with brother Easton, clocking an 11.910 vs. Easton’s 14.033 in the 6-9 age-group final.
Blaine Denunzio, far lane, used a reaction-time edge of nearly a tenth to defeat Cody Vincent in the 10-12 title round, 8.928 to 9.078.
Isabella Lilly Pires earned the 13-14 class Wally when she bested a red-lighting Sophia Garcia Wells in the final.
Joyce Schmid, near lane, got off the starting line first in the 15-17 bracket title round, but Katelyn Torres was able to drive around her and win on a 7.927 to 7.919 count.
Jacelyn Gonzaga, near lane, turned a .024 to .057 lead at the Tree into a 6.904 to 6.900 victory over Jacob Collins in Jr. Comp.
SUNDAY
Easton Oliveira, far lane, evened the score with brother Caden when he won their final-round rematch in the 6-9 age bracket, 14.091 to 12.018.
After coming up short in Saturday’s final, Cody Vincent, near lane, was able to go the distance in the 10-12 class Sunday, defeating Boden Cook on a 9.105 to 9.085 count.
Saturday runner-up Sophia Garcia Wells, near lane, picked up the 13-14 age-group Wally when Payton Romano red-lighted in the final.
Jacob Collins earned two Wallys, winning the 15-17 class and Jr. Comp by defeating Jacelyn Gonzaga in both final rounds. In the 15-17 bracket title round, Collins got off the starting line first, then clocked an 8.415 to defeat Gonzaga’s 8.132.
In the Jr. Comp final, Collins, near lane, got the automatic nod when Gonzaga red-lighted. Collins posted a 6.923 on his victory pass.
