Kylie Mocny (age6-9), Matthew Peterson (10-12), and Mallory Logan (13-17) outlasted the competition in their age groups to claim Wallys during the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Rockingham Dragway.
After winning her first career Wally the day before during National Open racing, Mocny, near lane, added another of the coveted trophies to her collection when she defeated Waylon Bennett in the LODRS 6-9 age-group final. Mocny left the starting line first and used that to her advantage, besting Bennett on a 12.003 (11.90 dial) to 11.944 (11.90) holeshot.
Peterson, far lane, denied the Mocny family a double win when he stopped Tanner Mocny in the 10-12 title round. Peterson was better at the Tree, which helped carry him to an 8.927 (8.91) to 8.915 (8.90) win.
The 13-17 class final was decided on the starting line when Curtis Peek, near lane, red-lighted. That turned on the win light for Logan, who cut a perfect .000 light and ran an 8.151 (8.12) en route to victory.
