The Stalba family enjoyed a very good outing during the Division 1 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Cecil County Dragway with three of them winning Wallys. Siblings Emily (age 10-12) and Paul (13-17) scored in the Jr. Dragster categories and were joined by mom Karen, who won Top Alcohol Dragster. Also celebrating at the event’s end was Aleiya DePascale, who won in the 6-9 age group.
DePascale was unopposed in the 6-9 final round, wheeling her dragster to a 14.795 (13.90 dial) to earn her first career Wally.
In the 10-12 title round, Christopher Orsini, far lane, got off the starting line first, but Emily Stalba was able to outmaneuver him at the stripe and win the double-breakout match on an 8.899 (8.94) to 10.769 (10.85) count.
Paul Stalba, near lane, cut a near-perfect .001 light in the 13-17 final, and he used the advantage it gave him to defeat Madison Schonberger on a holeshot, 7.947 (7.92) to 7.901 (7.90).
