The NHRA Northeast Division held its first NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event of the year at Lebanon Valley Dragway. When the dust settled, Logan Horton (age 6-9), Madison Schonberger (10-12), and Kimberlee Snell (13-17) hoisted Wallys in the winner’s circle after besting all competitors in their respective age groups.
Horton, near lane, got off the starting line first in the 6-9 final and never looked back, defeating Evan Stack on a 12.411 (12.29 dial) to 14.069 (13.90) count.
Schonberger, near lane, got the reaction-time edge in the 10-12 title round, and that proved key. Zachary Grignon ran right on his 8.93 dial, but it wasn’t enough to get around Schonberger, who won with an 8.950 (8.90).
The 13-17 final was decided at the Tree when Danielle Ticcony, far lane, red-lighted. That turned on the win light in the lane of Snell, who ran an 8.008 (8.02) on her victory lap.
