Tanner Mocny (age 6-9), Bladen Core (10-12), and Baylee Mize (13-17) outlasted the field in their respective age groups during the Division 2 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Atlanta Dragway.
After coming up short in the final round at the previous LODRS event at South Georgia Motorsports Park, Mocny was able to go the distance this time, defeating sister Kylie in the 6-9 title round. Kylie, near lane, got a slight advantage on the starting line, but Tanner was able to drive around her and win on an 11.999 (11.94 dial) to 14.202 (14.05).
The 10-12 final was decided on the starting line when Hailey Peterson, near lane, red-lighted. That turned the win light on in the lane of Core, who ran an 8.896 (8.90) en route to victory.
After getting a .027 to .041 jump at the Tree, Mize, near lane, ran .003-second over her 7.96 dial to win the 13-17 class final against Mallory Logan, who posted a 7.944 (7.90).
