Derrick Hegwood and Dylan Oliveira doubled up during the Pacific Division Jr. Championship doubleheader weekend at Irwindale Dragstrip, races three and four of the 10-race series that will determine the 2018 Division 7 champions. Each of them won the 15-17 age group and the Jr. Comp class during the event. Hegwood took top honors in 15-17 on Saturday and was the Jr. Comp winner Sunday, while Oliveira did the reverse, winning Jr. Comp Saturday and 15-17 on Sunday.

Joining Hegwood and Oliveira in Saturday's winner's circle were Mason Phlegar (age 6-9), Quinn Cunningham (10-12), and Braiden Chesleigh (13-14). On Sunday, Ethan Molletti (6-9), Tiller White (10-12), and Jacob Crandall (13-14) were also victorious.

With their wins on Saturday, Phlegar and Hegwood jumped to the points lead in the 6-9 and 15-17 age groups, respectively, with just over half the series races remaining. The Division 7 Series' next events will take place May 5-6 at Sacramento Raceway.
