Near-doubles by Taylor Lee Taylor, Jared Jones, and AJ Thomas highlighted the first doubleheader weekend of the 2017 Pacific Division Jr. Championship Series. The events held at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park near Phoenix, Ariz., Jan. 14-15, kicked off the 10-race series in which drivers will earn points to determine this year's Division 7 Jr. Dragster champions.

Taylor jumped to the early points lead in the 13-14 age group when she won the opening event, then finished as the runner-up in the second one. Jones accomplished the same feat in the 15-17 bracket, winning on day one and coming in second in the second event. Thomas achieved the same results, but in reverse; he was the Jr. Comp runner-up in the first race and won the class on the second day.
