Division 2 adds Jr. Dragsters to all NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events in 2017
Feb. 17, 2017

Jr. Dragsters race in Division 2Racers in the Southeast Division will have more opportunities to race for Wallys and another points championship during the 2017 season because the division has added Jr. Dragsters to all of its NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events. There will be three classes contested at the events — Novice (age 6-9), Intermediate (10-12), and Advanced (13-17) — and in addition, to awarding Wallys to the winners in each category, racers will also earn points towards a season championship just like their “big car” counterparts. A racer’s best five of seven events will count towards his or her final total (click here for a schedule of events). The racer with the most points at season’s end will be honored as the champion.

For the Novice category, entry into each event is $50. The winner in that class will receive a Wally, and the runner-up will be awarded a plaque. In Intermediate and Advanced, the entry fee is $100. The winner in each will receive a Wally and $500, runners-up take home a plaque and $150, and $75 will be awarded to each semifinalist.
