The 2017 Northeast Division Jr. Dragster titles will be on the line this weekend during the four-day Division 1 Jr. Championships at Numidia Dragway in Numidia, Pa. The event kicks off with a time-trial day on Thursday, Aug. 10, and culminates with the crowning of division champions on Saturday, Aug. 12. Sunday, Aug. 13, is the rain date or a High Roller event to follow up the championship event.
Gates open at 10 a.m. on Thursday, and time runs will begin at noon. A Gamblers race will follow time runs.
Friday will feature the Race of Champions contest. Time runs begin at 9 a.m., and Race of Champions eliminations will begin at 4 p.m. Numidia will host a barbecue at 6 p.m., and a Gamblers race will follow at 7 p.m.
Saturday is championship day with division titles on line in five categories: 6-9, 10-12, 13-14, 15-17, and Jr. Street. All competitors will receive one time run, beginning at 8:30 a.m., followed by eliminations, which are scheduled for noon. In addition to eliminations in the five divisional categories, a consolation race will also be held for all first-round losers.
Though the divisional race is slated to end Saturday, Numidia has additional racing scheduled for Sunday, which is also a rain date for the event. Barring a rainout of the divisional race Saturday, Sunday will feature a High Roller contest with time runs at 10 a.m. and eliminations at noon.
